Skincare Sessions at SBS: Insight from Dr. Patricia Farris

Patricia K. Farris, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist known for her expertise in topical skincare and cosmeceuticals. Her extensive experience and research in this area make her a highly sought-after personality on the lecture circuit, and she regularly presents at numerous conferences and events.

With over 35 years of experience, Dr. Farris provides a wealth of first-class knowledge, and LiVDerm is proud to have her present at this year’s South Beach Symposium (SBS).

Dr. Farris recently shared some insight into the topics she will be covering at SBS 2023, taking place from Feb. 9-12 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

The first of Dr. Farris’ sessions, Skincare Supplements: Fact or Fiction, on Thursday, Feb. 9,  will look specifically at beauty supplements and their use in promoting healthy skin and their anti-aging properties. Dr. Farris mentions that “in general, dermatologists don’t know a whole lot about supplements and things that are used for the inside-out approach to beauty.” She, therefore, believes this will be a hugely relevant topic to dive into.

Dr. Farris will also be presenting her second topic during the Anti-Aging and Integrative Medicine Track, led by SBS Planning Committee Member Glynis R. Ablon, MD, on Saturday, Feb. 11. The Role of Nutrition & Diet in Skin Health: Does It Really Matter? session will focus on diet and nutrition as it concerns skin health and beauty. Dr. Farris plans on reviewing some of the research conducted in this area that in fact does point to a direct link between what we eat and our skin’s overall health.

The comprehensive nature of SBS makes it an excellent option for anyone wishing to enhance their skills in both medical and aesthetic dermatology practices. The SBS agenda is packed full of relevant, up-to-the-minute information explicitly designed to provide participants with the tools they need to boost their knowledge and advance in their careers. With four full days of invigorating lectures, presentations, and demonstrations, alongside several specialty sessions, including the Sexual and Gender Diverse Dermatology Summit and the Atopic Dermatitis Workshop, SBS 2023 is not to be missed.
