Although cosmetic treatments have traditionally been geared more towards the adult population, current data reveals a growing trend in cosmetic procedures among pediatric patients. This study aimed to explore the types of procedures being performed by pediatric and cosmetic dermatologists, as well as the factors that influence their decisions to provide these treatments.
Researchers conducted an anonymous online survey distributed to healthcare practitioners who regularly use laser treatments for pediatric cutaneous conditions. The survey gathered data on:
– Participants’ primary scope of practice
– Types of pediatric cosmetic procedures performed
– Counseling topics
– Procedural details and considerations

– Pediatric dermatologists: 77.65%
– General dermatologists: 18.82%
– Cosmetic dermatologists: 8.24%
– Dermatologic/Mohs surgeons: 1.18%
The results highlighted the top pediatric cosmetic conditions treated:
