The Superficial Radiation Therapy Workshop will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018. This workshop will introduce the essentials of superficial radiation therapy (SRT) as a treatment modality for non-melanoma skin cancer as well as introduce additional clinical applications for SRT.
SRT has been used by dermatologists for the treatment of skin cancers for more than a century. A reemergence of SRT has been driven most recently by more sophisticated delivery systems and technologies. Expert faculty will educate learners of the physics of radiation, advances in radiation technology, and developments in SRT computerized technology. They will discuss patient selection, efficacy, cosmesis, and adverse effects of this technology to execute safe and effective treatment plans. The workshop will also cover regulatory issues governing the administration and billing of SRT.
Upon completion of this activity, dermatologists will be better able to integrate SRT strategies into clinical practice and select among the various treatment options to optimize patient outcomes.
