He graduated from the University of California with highest honors in Biology. He received his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his dermatology residency at Stanford University School of Medicine in 1986. Dr. Bitter is regarded as the pioneer in the use of pulsed light technology for skin rejuvenation. He is the developer of the acclaimed FotoFacial procedure using pulsed light to rejuvenate aged skin. He has authored several groundbreaking scientific papers on the use of pulsed light for skin rejuvenation. He is a sought after lecturer and teacher and has taught over four thousand physicians worldwide in the use of pulsed light. Outside of his accomplishments in the cosmetic dermatology arena, Dr. Bitter is also an Ironman and Triathlete.

Dr. Callender has performed leadership roles in many dermatological organizations, including the Women’s Dermatologic Society and the Skin of Color Society, where she is Past President of both societies, and has served on the board of directors and executive committee of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is the Founder and Medical Director of the Callender Dermatology & Cosmetic Center, which is in the Washington, DC metropolitan region. Dr. Callender received her medical degree from Howard University, where she also did her residency and currently serves as Professor of Dermatology at the College of Medicine.

Robert Kirsner

Dr. Robert Kirsner is a Tenured Professor, Chairman and holds the endowed Harvey Blank Chair in Dermatology in the Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Robert Kirsner is a Tenured Professor, Chairman and holds the endowed Harvey Blank Chair in Dermatology in the Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He currently serves as director of the University of Miami Hospital Wound Center and Chief of Dermatology at the University of Miami Hospital. Dr. Kirsner received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and received his medical degree from the University of Miami, and after his clinical training he completed his doctorate in Epidemiology from the University of Miami. Dr. Kirsner completed a fellowship in wound healing and his residency in dermatology at the University of Miami. With research interests in Wound Healing and Skin Cancer Epidemiology, Dr. Kirsner serves on the editorial boards for a number of journals in Dermatology and Wound Healing and is Academic Editor of the journal, Wound Repair and Regeneration. He serves on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Dermatology and the Wound Healing Society, is past president of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care and the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. In addition to career development awards and industry sponsored funding, he is a recipient of NIH, ACS, CDC funding for his research. Independent of books, book chapters and abstracts, he has published over 500 articles.

Pearl Kwong

Dr. Pearl Kwong is a Board certified Pediatric dermatologist and general dermatologist. She has been in practice for over 20+ years, starting in academic medicine as Chief of Pediatric Dermatology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and Nemours Childrens Clinic of Jacksonville.

Dr. Pearl Kwong, MD – Dr. Pearl Kwong is a Board certified Pediatric dermatologist and general dermatologist. She has been in practice for over 20+ years, starting in academic medicine as Chief of Pediatric Dermatology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and Nemours Childrens Clinic of Jacksonville. She held academic positions of Assistant Professor in both institutions. She underwent formal specialty trainings in Pediatrics at University of Alberta, Canada and then Dermatology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She earned her PhD in Immunology and Microbiology prior to her medical career. She is currently in solo practice practicing mainly pediatric dermatology and dermatology as well as being active in research clinical trials and teaching dermatology residents from Orange Park Medical Center.

Dr. Amy McMichael is a board-certified dermatologist, Professor and Chair in the Department of Dermatology at Wake Forest University Health Sciences in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. McMichael is a past Skin of Color Society President and co-chairs the Skin of Color Society Scientific Committee. She is a widely published medical dermatologist, skin of color expert and hair loss expert. Dr. McMichael specializes in scalp disorders, cosmetic dermatology, acne, melasma, hyperpigmentation, hair loss, psoriasis, and eczema. Dr. McMichael serves on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology and served as President of the Skin of Color Society from 2015-2017. Dr. McMichael served as Chair of the first LiVDerm Deep Dive Series course: Racial Disparities in Dermatology program which launched on March 6, 2021 and will be on faculty for the next Deep Dive entitled, Dermatology on the Frontlines. Dr. McMichael has presented at the South Beach Symposium meeting on Skin of Color Symposium.

Johnathan Silverberg

Dr. Johnathan Silverberg is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC. He is the Director of Clinical Research and Contact Dermatitis.

Dr. Johnathan Silverberg, MD, PhD, MPH. Dr. Johnathan Silverberg is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC. He is the Director of Clinical Research and Contact Dermatitis. Dr. Silverberg completed his undergraduate and medical school training as a part of the highly selective dual B.A./M.D. program at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, in Brooklyn. Dr. Silverberg also received his doctorate in neuroimmunology and Master of Public Health degree in biostatistics and epidemiology from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center where he also completed his internship in internal medicine. He completed his residency training in dermatology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and Beth Israel Medical Centers in New York, NY and served as Chief Resident during his final year. Dr. Silverberg’s area of clinical subspecialty is inflammatory skin disease, particularly atopic and contact dermatitis. He has extensive experience in the advanced management of atopic dermatitis, hand eczema, chronic itch, psoriasis, hidradenitis and many other chronic inflammatory skin disorders. He is also a national expert in allergy patch testing, phototesting and photopatch testing. Dr. Silverberg’s research interests include drug development, clinical trial design, biomarkers, dermato-epidemiology, health services research, patient-reported outcomes, comorbidities and burden of itch and inflammatory skin disease and evidence-based dermatology. His publications include more than 600 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and book chapters. He is also the author of the Clinical Management of Atopic Dermatitis handbook (2018). Dr. Silverberg has also been a local, national and/or international principal investigator for numerous clinical trials for novel treatments in atopic dermatitis and other inflammatory disorders. He has been recognized with several honors, including the Young Leadership Award from the American Dermatological Association in 2017, Teacher of the Year Award in the department of dermatology in 2015, Outstanding Teacher’s Award from the Feinberg School of Medicine in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and the inaugural Rajka Award from the International Society for Atopic Dermatitis in 2014. He is an associate editor for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology and Current Dermatology Reports. Dr. Silverberg is a member of the International Eczema Council, North American Contact Dermatitis Group the American Society of Contact Dermatitis. Dr. Silverberg is also the chair of the annual Revolutionizing Atopic Dermatitis global multidisciplinary conference.

Dr. Stein Gold has just completed her service on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Executive, Priorities, Corporate Relations, and Budget Committees. She has authored more than 75 articles published in journals including Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Dermatological Treatment, Pediatric Dermatology, Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, and Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Stein Gold is a frequent national and international lecturer on the areas of psoriasis, alopecia, viral infections, atopic dermatitis, and fungal infections. Her recent research has focused on treatments for papulopustular rosacea, acne vulgaris, plaque-type psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and alopecia areata.
