Dr. Cohen realized the deficit in dermatological care for children while in medical school and decided to specialize in that area. Throughout the course of his career, he gained valuable expertise in medicine and education as the Director of Pediatric Dermatology for the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, an assistant professor of dermatology and pediatrics for the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Medicine and an associate director of the Pigmented Lesion and Melanoma Unit at the Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. Dr. Cohen also served as Director of Pediatric Dermatology and the Cutaneous Laser Center at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
Dr. Cohen has extensive experience in the laser treatment of port-wine birthmarks. He has published widely in the field of pediatric dermatology. His research interests include studying the psychological aspects of hemangiomas.
