Dr. Amy Forman Taub founded Advanced Dermatology in 2003, one of the top medical and cosmetic dermatology practices in the US, with over 80,000 patients, 70 employees, 5 physicians, 4 physician assistants, 5 estheticians, and 1 cosmetic RN. Advanced Dermatology has two locations in the Northern Chicago suburbs, Lincolnshire and Glencoe, IL.
Dr. Taub is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Northwestern University Medical School where she teaches a monthly cosmetic surgery clinic for residents. She is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine, Chicago Dermatologic Society, Illinois State Dermatologic Society, the Leader’s Society of the Dermatology Foundation, the Amonette Circle, and the Medical Advisory Council of the Skin Cancer Foundation, a founding member of the Dermatologic & Aesthetic Surgery International League (DASIL), and on the Industry Advisory Council of the ASDS and current Chairperson of the ASDS Product and Service Development workgroup. In addition, she is a senior editor at the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and a peer-reviewer for Dermatologic Surgery, and an Allergan Medical Facial Aesthetic Speaker and Trainer. Advanced Dermatology is a CoolHub location, recognized by Allergan as a Center for Excellence in Coolsculpting.
She has been selected as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor every year since 2013, Castle Connolly Exceptional Women in Medicine 2018-2021, Best Doctor by Chicago Magazine (2019-2021), one of twelve Best Cosmetic Doctors in Chicago Magazine (2020), voted Best Cosmetic Dermatologist in the Suburbs of Chicago by Better Magazine in (2018- 2021).
Dr. Taub founded the website, skinfo.com in 1998, which was only the second skincare e-commerce store on the internet ever. She also opened a physical skincare boutique called skinfo® Specialty Skincare Boutique in the same locations as AD, which employs certified estheticians offering expert help in constructing skincare regimens unique to a patient’s individual skin type, based on a concept of healthy skin called the Core 4, which she pioneered.
Dr. Taub is a pioneer in photodynamic therapy, full facial volumetric filler rejuvenation, laser/energy-based device expert, and acne scarring, as well as a frequent lecturer and author on the national and international scene, with over 30 original peer-reviewed publications and more than 10 book chapters. She is known for her investigator-initiated clinical trials and is a research site for major cosmetic and dermatologic medical companies in clinical trials for FDA approval.
Dr. Taub co-founded a company called SkinQRI with long-time associate James Bartholomeusz to create skincare products for unmet needs in dermatology. Their first product for hair loss (OTC), patent-pending Kerafactor, is an up-and-coming treatment for androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium.
